All Creatures Pet Care Center has been a part of the Porterville community in one form or another since 1964. At that time, it was a mixed animal practice (companion animals as well as livestock). In 1975 Dr. Richard Merrill purchased the small animal portion of the practice and Westwood Veterinary Hospital was born. The hospital operated out of a small converted house from that time until 1992 when the new building was completed. We went from 2200 square feet to 6700 square feet, and became All Creatures Pet Care Center.
